I have no defense against the first drink. If I drink, I will drink until the end of the bottle. This is not a matter of willpower, for I have no willpower when it comes to alcohol.

It sounds as if alcohol is a euphoric for you. This is genetic. The only advice I can give you is the same one I give the fatties: Leave it on the shelf in the store.

Note that "Leave it on the shelf in the store" is a positive term. If you say, "Don't buy it" you are resisting an action making it a negative statement. "Leave it on the shelf in the store" tells your brain that you are doing something and is vastly more likely reward you with a dopamine hit if you succeed.

Feed all of your alcohol, that you currently have in the house, to the kitchen sink hole. *Positive terminology. Your sink will thank you and reward you with dopamine later.

Is that similar to "I chose to eat a healthy salad today" rather than "I resisted the temptation of donuts"? Because the former feels like an accomplishment?
