When my dad would go on the wagon he would eat gallons of ice cream. He was a really hard working man even though he was alcoholic. The ice creams and pies and stuff replaced the sugars from all the alcohol.

When I quit before definitely crave ice cream, milk, chocolate. Something with the sugar

Yep. As you get used to not drinking eat a lot of high quality proteins like meats, eggs, fish. Hang in there brother, one day at a time. Keep working at it and never say never.

That's the gist of it. It's like quitting a really, really bad sugar addiction combined with nervous withdrawal symptoms.
