No desire to drink, but don't feel great. Lucky I'm sober, cause my grandpa down the way fainted. AFib attack. He's alright but helped him to get to the hospital

Remember to eat a lot the first couple of weeks. Alcoholic brains turn hunger into a craving for alcohol. It's worth it to eat a lot for a few days until you are through the shittiest part.

The worst of it is over in a few days, in a few weeks it's not that bad, and then it's just dealing with moments of weakness until you've really kicked it. For that, 12 steps, or just convince yourself that alcohol is poison and avoid it with religious zeal. I did the latter.

When my dad would go on the wagon he would eat gallons of ice cream. He was a really hard working man even though he was alcoholic. The ice creams and pies and stuff replaced the sugars from all the alcohol.

When I quit before definitely crave ice cream, milk, chocolate. Something with the sugar

Yep. As you get used to not drinking eat a lot of high quality proteins like meats, eggs, fish. Hang in there brother, one day at a time. Keep working at it and never say never.

That's the gist of it. It's like quitting a really, really bad sugar addiction combined with nervous withdrawal symptoms.
