But I always wanted to say, if you have to ask...

But I didn't because that's basically snitching. But I hate witnessing situations where I don't think what happened was actually dangerous or harmful or even wrong, but it was technically wrong and definitely against policy.

Lying or snitching seem equally painful.

Neither the boss or employee is as asshole. The employee wouldn't get fired for it.

It just fucking sucks.

I've been in relatable situations and therefore can relate. My go to move is to confront the offender myself.

"Hey man, you should probably knock that off. It really puts me in an uncomfortable place having to lie. I don't like to lie and if I get asked again I won't."

But all in all I'm a firm believer in: "Rules are made to be broken, if not they'd be worthless."

If i see him drinking i tell him he's fired because im the boss and if you cant make it through the day without drinking you can fuck off.

I'd take the guy aside and let him know he's on the radar and to serious up if he wants to keep his job.

Then, if you're into this kind of thing, talk to him about it - It might be he's maintenance drinking because he's got a serious problem he's not addressing.

He has a weird alcoholism about him.

I know his drinking habits pretty well.

One whiteclaw is fine. Once he hits two he changes, but it almost seems like he stops getting drunker. Like he'll act exactly the same two deep as he acts 12 deep.

Which is kind of like an ADHD ridden asshole, but not in a really bad way.

i just got sacked by an alcoholic who thinks its ok to be constantly drinking cider while working on scaffold.

the fucking drunk could not organise a root in a street full of brothels in amsterdam and owes me about $6k

every fucking day he demands someone meets him at his place at sparrow fart to drive his car so he doesnt have to.

every fucking day he wastes time re-organising shit that should have been organised a week earlier.

every fucking day he relies on underexperienced and underqualified staff to do things theyve got no clue on simply because hes home early drinking.

every fucking day he whines about how many favours he does everyone else while not doing even the basics of managing his business,.

I fucking hated alcoholics before and i fucking hate them worse now.

FUCKING OATH id be telling my boss theyve been drinking and if the boss does fuck all about it someone higher up is getting called in.

Some people are incredibly stupid. They may actually be unaware the it is an alcoholic drink. Their spouse may have bought it and your coworker just grabbed something out of the fridge without paying attention. Yeah, I know that's really giving them the benefit of the doubt, but who knows...
