Really? Fucking really? At least get one of the ones that uses a laser rather than a needle so you don't have a risk of scratching it. I get the "collector" thing to a degree but these morons are buying them because "its cool to be retro" or some shit but they cant even play the records and probably don't even know how a player works. But I'll go against the majority here. I don't see it as any different than buying a poster to hang on a wall. It isn't something I'd do (poster or album), but whatever.

As far as the format debate. There is a unique sound from a record player that is quite satisfying, but there is a reason we moved to more convenient formats.
