From the headline you'd think they designed paint that was more aerodynamic, which would be kinda cool. You'd be wrong:

The livery uses a two-coat system consisting of a base coat and a clear coat, which in simple terms reduces the weight of the paint by up to 30 per cent.

They're just using less paint to make the plane lighter.

They could save even more by not painting them at all, just using a logo where necessary. Aluminum doesn't need paint.
