Nope! That was the death of my first vehicle. She was a raggedy POS I had from 17 to 20, and I was stranded half way through a 200 mile trip. I think it a blew a head gasket, dumped all my oil, and fucked my pistons. By the time I limped to a place to get oil to salvage what I could, the engine was sounding pretty fucked. Don't fully recall. To the scrape it went, to young and broke to fix it.
My first car rotted out from under me (winter salt in the northeast).
Sounds like you had an upside down convertible for the summer. Fresh breeze to keep your's and the car's undercarriage cool. lol
It wasn't quite that bad, lol! Mud, puddles and wet roads did become a problem. Had to screw a few old license plates over holes in the floor. Lol! Between the rust and the beating I gave it for 4 years I had ripped the unibody under the back seat around the front shackle mount of the passenger rear leaf spring. When shifting gears under any load the rear seat would lift 2" - 2.5" from the spring coming through the unibody. I had it welded up but it broke out again like a 3 corner tear about 6 months later. The rest of the car still ran great but was looking pretty rusty by then so I moved on.
