Either it was left out or he decided that lying actually getting hired was the "something awful". Remember, the pejeets lie about basically everything on their resume. Its funny interviewing them sometimes because they basically don't even answer your questions and just sound like they are reading a pre-written script.
Maybe he tried to see if he wanted his kids number or something. Never know.
Either way, if the guy can prove himself with merit then he deserved the job anyway but if he cant then he's a jackass.

I thought that was standard these days? Maybe not lies, but stretching the truth until it almost snaps...
My resume and when I interview I accurately describe my skills. Its been a while and I understand you have to "sell yourself" but I don't lie.
I do also try a hell of a lot harder than most and self-learn all of the time on my own time. So, there is that.
I brought show n tell stuff last time I interviewed for a job. It got me that job.
I've worked with some people who kind of exaggerated skill, however.
