Another argument besides the funding of planned parenthood is that this is a synthetic hormone and IMO should be prescribed by a doctor. I don’t like the idea of getting birth control like getting Advil at the store. I’m not against easy access but the access must come with a physical exam! There are many health risks involved with different birth control pills, a woman’s blood pressure needs to be evaluated, her weight, her age...the list goes on.

Just because you should go to the doctor to get checked out before you take birth control doesn't mean access to the crap should be regulated.

Or the Republican Party can be more transparent as to why they support over the counter birth control. It’s the easier way around the Affordable Care Act mandate that employer-based health insurance covers birth control without a copay. If birth control is over the counter then companies who don’t want to cover birth control can say they don’t have to because you can get it like Advil.
