My drunken ex took out all my guns and threatened the neighbor with them. Then when I got home, took all the guns away and yelled at her for that, she started throwing chairs at me. I was obviously an idiot because I called the cops at that point. They took me in and stuck me in a cell for 48 hours, after making me give them all my guns, which they subsequently threw in the pile to be destroyed [which the local paper hailed as a great victory for lawfulness and peace or something]. Um, so yeah. I think I basically agree with you.
