Come on man, editors really need at least a high school education. Mushrooms are NOT vegetables. They are fungi. Also, never trust a mushroom unless you really know what it is and what region it is picked in.
Almost every year there are stories of some over-seas visitors or students going mushroom picking but not realizing the local versions here are deadly and look like the ones they are used to. One year a bunch of Chinese students ended up dead because of it.
Who want's to bet that the "produce stand" is ran by criminal illegal aliens that thought the mushrooms were safe to eat?

From the post:
>Three California residents were poisoned by deadly mushrooms that they bought from a food truck. The patients bought the vegetable from a produce van in Salinas, a farming community in central California. The trio, described as young and healthy, ate amanita phalloides, colloquially known as 'death caps' or ‘the silent assassin.’ They look similar to common edible mushrooms found in grocery stores, including button and cremini mushrooms, but consuming just 30 grams of them is enough to kill.
