Yep. That tends to happen. It wasn't a US Flagged ship anyway. This is my husband's job. He is a Chief mate on cargo ships and spends hours doing nothing but getting his ships prepared for their inspections. He could write a book. The last ship he is on right now, he had to fight the day labors because they were literally shitting on his deck. They didn't speak English, and his cargo was food. Sometimes the emails he sends me, I almost spit coffee out my nose reading them. Nothing surprises me anymore.
