I’d like to believe it irrational, but this is one of my biggest fears. I see it beginning along the lines of a traffic incident. The two firearms in my possession (purse and car) will be confiscated because big brother thinks I need their permission to carry them when in fact I do not. Then they’ll come to the house and raid the rest, which we will attempt to prevent. We’ll be painted in the media as whackos, and all our friends and neighbors will talk about what a nice, quiet couple we were and how out of character it all was. Hopefully the children will be able to paint it for what it really was, an execution of the citizenry for exercising one of their rights. May this never come to fruition.
