I often hear people make grandiose claims about what human nature is. I'm not sure why people believe them. There are lots of people stronger than me when I go to the grocery store, and yet they do not attack me. And there are lots of old ladies there that I could probably beat up, and yet I have not conquered them.
There is no universal rule about how human beings have to act in all cases. There are many examples of strong nations co-existing with and trading with weaker nations, to the benefit of both.
What you have stated is simply not true at all.

Because the risks outweigh the benefits. Why do you think the sort of thing is increasing dramatically in liberal cities that aren't enforcing laws so much any more? Make no mistake that if there were zero risk of negative consequences you would be pummeled on a near daily basis if you had resources that a stronger person wanted.
I think this says more about you than it does about everyone else.
Perhaps if there were no consequences for you, then you would attack and steal from everyone weaker than you.
But I don't think most people are just waiting for the police to disappear so that they can raid their neighbors' houses.
But I don't think most people are just waiting for the police to disappear so that they can raid their neighbors' houses.
Then why do they do precisely that?
You're sitting here an telling me with a straight face that if your family were starving and you knew a neighbor had food but wasn't willing to share you wouldn't go take some if able? You're either incredibly naive or stupid.
