Absolutely, just need a more biased judge. If the next judge decides to exclude certain evidence then he can absolutely bail out the prosecution. The current judge has the option to end it now for the jurors safety but i suspect he's going to be petitioned for directed verdicts and accept meaning the judge can direct the jury. The judge will have seem the facts and can say to the jury, the facts are explicitly exculpatory on the following charges you may not convict on these charges. If that happens the prosecution and the state can be sued for malicious prosecution quite easily. I think the judge wont mind the political fallout. And he can prevent these scumbags from railroading an innocent young man in a second trial and a jury from being targeted.
