You seem to think the jury tried to judge the Chauvin case on its merits, and that's why it went that way. They gave a guilty verdict to everything he was charged with, even though murder would preclude manslaughter, they convicted him of both anyway. No jury is going to give a shit about what's presented to them in this case if they have to fear for their lives after the trial is over.
