Just think, if they had been trained and were used to the big scary guns, they would naturally check before doing anything. I know I check mine like I would check for cars walking across the street.
Instead they avoid them and do not treat them with the respect they deserve.
I don't take anyone's word for it about a weapon being unloaded, even my own. I often double check. I can't imagine just picking up a gun, pointing it at someone, and pulling the trigger on pure faith that someone told me it was safe. If I was supposed to point it at someone and pull the trigger I'd be checking like 50 times. They'd probably have to do 10 takes because I'd start to pull the trigger and be like, "hang on, let me check again."
Honestly, I'm the same way.
