I think there is more to this than first meets the eye slips on Columbo hat
Apparently this production has been beset by union agitation and complaints of tough working conditions.
Complaints have included: long working hours, the local hotel not being fancy enough causing them to have to drive an hour to work, and firearms safety concerns (store that complaint for future reference). Main focus of complaints are the producers and their whip cracking first assistant director Dave Halls.
These complaints escalated until guns started popping off mysteriously. Is this by accident, or design?
The union scrubs flounce off set. Non union staff drafted in. Anyone handling a firearm on set at this point is basically playing russian roulette.
The very same day Alec Baldwin guns down mother of one Halyna Hutchins, 42, and director Joel Souza, 48.
The script supervisor Mamie Mitchell is heard on the 911 call saying 'Did you see him lean over my desk and yell at me? He's supposed to check the guns. He's (Dave Halls) responsible for what happened'.
The script writer (who is practiced in constructing narratives) is first on the phone and already laying traps, also seems to have an axe to grind with first AD.
Now I'm not saying that these Hollywood activist types confected a series of accidents to try and put someone they didn't like in trouble, or that they intentionally caused the death of Halyna Hutchins as an unforeseen consequence, but it is a possibility.
