COVID-test the donor just before the donation, have the recipient quarantine for a month or whatever after, and anyone coming in contact be tested beforehand. Assuming their reasons are as claimed.

This is normal practice. They have a organ that can go to 100 different people that need an organ. They are going to choose the one that follows the "rules" and does everything they can to keep themselves from being a wasted organ.

They aren't going to spend time and resources on the procedure. If you got the know how and the ability/equipment to donate a organ from your family member into a person of your choice and after the procedure follow the strict regimen and medications needed to be taken by the recipient of the organ, great.

There are hundreds of people on the list that will do anything for an organ, getting the organ is 1 step out of many for a transplant.
