So basically it's treated as normal leave, and you have to come in one last day to get your DD214 just before separating? I could be wrong, but I believe we get a digital copy of our DD214 once it's available.

This was awhile ago, I think you could go to any installation that was nearby, I lived three hours from my last duty station so I went there.
