At least I enjoy my hotel rooms.
Also, if I were her, I'd be asking for another opinion from a full bird Colonel. It's also worth seeking an IG complaint if no one helps her out as a nuclear option.
You're not wrong though about filing for an administrative waiver though. If she's going on terminal leave in 6 days, all she has to do is submit paperwork to stall. I guarantee you that paperwork isn't going to reach the deciding official within the week.
I don't know how the Army is, but in the Air Force, once you start terminal leave, you're basically untouchable unless you commit a crime or something. I wouldn't put it past the Army to fuck with their soldiers one last time though.
I didn’t join for hotel rooms, I joined for combat.
It depends on the unit but generally terminal leave you just show up for morning and evening formation and try not to be seen. Paperwork can take forever unless they want to fuck with you.
How's that terminal leave? It's not leave if you have to show up. Terminal leave in the Air Force means you retire/separate X days early. If you have 54 days of leave saved up, you can take off the uniform 54 days before your date of separation. You'll NEVER see them anywhere close to work, and especially not in uniform.
Unless an individual is remaining in the area, they're probably in another state with a new job and a new house.
Oh we didn’t call that terminal leave, I can’t recall what it was now and I had 54 days saved up and had to show back up on the final day to sign out and get my dd214.
And you had to check in let’s say by 9 am, leave(I went and hung with people from my unit) and then report back to the same weird building with bitchy civilians and sign in by 3pm, stand in line forever and finally sign you’re discharge papers and get your dd214..
