I didn’t join for hotel rooms, I joined for combat.
It depends on the unit but generally terminal leave you just show up for morning and evening formation and try not to be seen. Paperwork can take forever unless they want to fuck with you.
How's that terminal leave? It's not leave if you have to show up. Terminal leave in the Air Force means you retire/separate X days early. If you have 54 days of leave saved up, you can take off the uniform 54 days before your date of separation. You'll NEVER see them anywhere close to work, and especially not in uniform.
Unless an individual is remaining in the area, they're probably in another state with a new job and a new house.
Oh we didn’t call that terminal leave, I can’t recall what it was now and I had 54 days saved up and had to show back up on the final day to sign out and get my dd214.
And you had to check in let’s say by 9 am, leave(I went and hung with people from my unit) and then report back to the same weird building with bitchy civilians and sign in by 3pm, stand in line forever and finally sign you’re discharge papers and get your dd214..
So basically it's treated as normal leave, and you have to come in one last day to get your DD214 just before separating? I could be wrong, but I believe we get a digital copy of our DD214 once it's available.
