I think that's what happened in New Zealand. I lived and worked there for 10 years during the 80s. They had reached the point of 50-50, 50% were employed by commercial companies, 50% were govt employees or on some welfare program. I wonder what it is now. Of course all the govt employees and welfare recipients will vote for the politician promises them more money.

They voted in serfdom. Stupid people get what they deserve, but I feel bad for the rest that have to live with it.
