And don't forget those reports of AmazonBasics branded products catching fire and having other safety issues. Even if the top results for what you're looking for are lower cost Amazon products, for a few shekels more you can probably get a safer product.

Yeah definitely. Amazon isn't just eating the cost on their cheap products, they're probably just getting even lower quality shit than the rest of the cheap electronics you can find on there (also Made in China).

They're not that much cheaper than competing brands. All they're doing is rebranding something that's made in the same factory in China. Maybe shaving some pennies and making it back on volume. It's branded for people who like that brand.

Everything is made in China. Especially when it comes to electronics. You are still better off trying to pay a bit more for quality.

Though, personally, all the Amazon Basics stuff has worked fine for me.

Apple has been infamous for cloning popular apps and cockblocking their indie developers in the process. One of the high costs of getting involved in the Apple ecosystem. Not that Android doesn't have its own long list of privacy issues.

And it's just like no matter what you search for on Netflix you get Netflix-created shows in the top of your results. It's what you get for using Netflix.
