Regular blood donors just do it for the petty cash, it's ridiculous.
Outside of the United States, the only compensation is a juice box and muffin. People who have rare blood types, especially those who have received blood in their past, are often regular donors.
In the US that is all you get, unless it is plasma you're donating.
I know someone that gets $50 for every blood donation here in Florida and $100 for plasma. She doesn't have a rare blood type.
I know a lady that consistently donates her blood and plasma at different locations to bypass their limits so that she can buy weed and alcohol afterward. I told her that's very dangerous and I also cut her off cuz she's crazy.
Sounds like an American issue
