Awaiting trial means not convicted. Police routinely falsely accuse and arrest innocent people. I’m sure the charges are all over the board as far as seriousness as well.

Society can be judged by the way you treat the prisoners. The just-us system is horribly corrupt. There are lots of innocent people in prison while the most dangerous and most deadly run our society.
