until theres a huge leap forward in battery technology none of the green bullshit will ever work

Government loves solutions that don't work because it gets to keep pumping money into the same thing again and again, and more each year, with everyone getting a cut in the process while you're the one being robbed. Just look at the 'success' of string theory.

So they're basically like the medical industry with regard to curing disease.

Yup. And I really don't see that coming very soon.

New capacitor tech maybe?

[–] 0 pt

no. storage and transmission

Yeh, it's called hydropower from dams.

But power cell types? There's only so much energy you can keep in something like that.

A better solution would be giant flywheel generators that would keep spinning if there was ever a power outage, then go full spin when the sun comes out or whatever.

Also a closed form of hydro where they pump water uphill into a pond, then let it fall back down to harvest the power.

[–] 1 pt

I e always wondered why this isn't done. Likely because it makes too much sense.

[–] 0 pt

hydro electric? What % of the US power supply is that exactly? Dumbass.

I don't give a shit. Dams are a store of energy. Dams are batteries. Dams don't overheat.

Zerohedge is owned by the same people who sell you gasoline.

Look back. Every other day there's another hit piece on Tesla. They HATE Tesla over at Zerohedge. Every battery fire, every time the company hits a bump, Zerohedge will blast the hell out of it. Never a critical article on gas powered engines, oil fires, wars fought over oil, market monopolies, nadda. They're sucking the oil dick, there.

Regardless, you gotta break eggs to get an omelette. I'm for electric vehicles for the sole reason of ousting big oil's transportation tax on everyone. Solar and batteries, at least our fuel will be free in the near future (for those wise enough to invest in a home PV setup). This happening will make batteries better.

[–] 3 pts

Electric vehicles mean that the government gets to control where, how and when you go anywhere. Fuck that.

It's easy to store gasoline, not so much electricity.

And quickly refuel a gasoline vehicle.

How's so?

You charge that shit up and go, I don't see the problem

[–] 1 pt

ZOG controls the grid. You could get solar, sure, but most states mandate that you set your solar up in such a way that you aren't able to even use it if the grid is shut down, and you can't take solar with you at all, and batteries are too cumbersome to pack into a car to charge it with (which isn't the case with gas).

ousting big oil's transportation tax on everyone

They're requiring odometer readings to tax you now. Also, fuel tax is one of the most just forms of tax. You get taxed on how much you drive, and that pays for roads.

[–] 1 pt

They have me 'fucled up' as they say. Time to learn how to clock ODO's

[–] 1 pt

They'll be taxing the tax soon.

I heard there was a rebellion once over just a 2% tax on tea, somewhere a while ago.

What's the breaking point?

Oil is green organic solar renewable solar energy.

Facts that upset envirocvnts. Why?

[–] 0 pt

Were either of these Tesla battery grid systems?

[–] 0 pt

No, Tesla does not currently use LG batteries.
