How fast do you think the market for 70 yo machines that were still made in america will last before every single one that is serviceable was bought and in use? Gigatons of it were shipped over to china. And you still arent talking tooling which while some of it may be assembled in america the raw materials for it and subcomponents are coming from china. Motors, bearings, linear slides all of that stuff is coming from china along with all the electronics and sub components for the stuff. sure small scale you could concivebly start making some of it after they rebuilt and put back into service all of the steel mills that were parted out and sold but man theres going to be years of gaps in being able to get any of that stuff reliably.

Actually precision engineering of bearings is not something china is known for. They only figured it out a few years back.

Yes the best are made in japan or germany but even they are pulling in chinese steel as the raw stock.

But why would I care about the collapse of the outside world if I am enjoying a turkey hunt on MY land?

People rot and fester inside cities. They always have and always do. Always will. Revolutions, war, revolt, marches, riots, "economies" "job markets" the flippitty S&P all of it irrelevant to the very way of life that I wish to pursue.

You tell me that some teenager can't get his amazon package and suddenly everybody in the cities starts eating each other, I believe you. I do believe you. Cities are horrible.

But I don't care. I don't care if nurses do tick tock videos. I don't care.

I am gonna go plant some okra in the ground.
