IIRC there were 150 silos scattered throughout surrounding counties, each of them surrounded by a security fence. Only the finest missile wax was applied to reduce drag. After a priest was imprisoned for breaking into a perimeter fence and sprinkling a site with holy water, all 150 silos were destroyed per a treaty, I believe SALT.
