Hmm. I don't think it is. But holy shit was the technology back then suspect to even make it to the moon. It's almost a 'no way in Hell could they have made it to the moon' type feeling. I looked up the four "scientists" who proposed this name change:

Lucianne Walkowicz at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, Illinois; Chanda Prescod-Weinstein at the University of New Hampshire in Durham; Brian Nord at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois; and Sarah Tuttle at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Walkowicz and Weinstein are (((judenscheiss))) carpet-munchers. Nord is a homo who "came out" years ago as a young boy; Tuttle is an "Atheist-Pansexual".
