What's ironic about it?

Mega Corp "A" creates/sells a product which causes a respiratory condition. Mega Corp "B" creates/sells a product that treats/cures the problem created by the product of Mega Corp "A." Mega Corp "A" acquires Mega Corp "B," thereby creating (albeit with conflict of interest) a corporate monopoly.

Par for the course, really.
