Marburg and it's Ebola cousins are something else. Most don't know there is an airborne strain and it's called the Reston Strain. As in it was discovered in Reston, Virginia. The kicker is it only killed lab monkeys and not humans, for whatever reason it mutated to be airborne but also to be selectively lethal and missed us. Crazy considering we and monkeys share 96% of our genes.
The book "Hot Zone" describes the outbreak and it's a pretty good read.
As for the article outbreaks in Africa are nothing new. It comes and goes there.
