Talking to them is the trap. Because they know that as long as they can keep you talking, they can continue doing what they are doing without fear. They will say, "Very interesting. Well, you seem to have given this a lot of thought. We will consider what you have said." Then they will go ahead and do what they were going to do anyway. And when you say, "Hey. Wait a minute. I told you the facts.", they will respond, "Yes, and we listened politely to you. But we disagree, so we are proceeding with our plan anyway."
You can quote facts at them until you are blue in the face, but until they start getting shot in the face in their own kitchen, they will continue to advance.
