This is true but I can't help but realize in the same situation I'd stick to defending my own property. If I was witness to a crime being committed perhaps I'd intervene. Depends on the crime really. Rape... sure I'd shoot. I see the neighbor who likes to use his leaf blower at 6am on saturdays getting his TV stolen... well that's none of my business.
