If the citizens of Mexico were well armed the cartels would not Own Mexico. It is amusing that they can ignore the the crimes of the Illegally armed drug dealers and 'blame' a piece of metal for their crimes. The question they must answer is, are you going to sue Ford for drunk drivers killing people? Yes that sounds as stupid as blaming any other product for crimes.
The citizens actually get along with the cartels. The cartels only go after the authorities and politicians that started hounding them when Bush Jr started their war on drugs. In fact, there is quite a peaceful city, open for tourism, that is completely run by cartels. No law enforcement. The name escapes me, though.
Id like to believe but i dont. Im not going to be turned into cartel stew or have my face put onto a soccer ball and kicked over the border. Not going to happen.

In the US, yes... Bush gave a grant to Mexico to kick start theirs.
