A lot of positions are elected which I think was intended to make sure they are accountable, but in practice it makes their job political. A DA is a big ticket pol in any major city, and it makes 'em do weird things. Some just try to hang everyone, thinking it will make them look good as a law and order type running for governor. Now, we have the Soros ones who try to let all minorities go.
