FOIA. They already have the power to 1) audit via FOIA or 2) force the CDC to admit they're simply a private company holding a cabinet level position and therefore have the same privacy protections as any other private entity.
Fact: Congress never created the CDC. It was created by a federal grant to kill mosquitos in Georgia where they remain headquartered today. They have a founder, Dr. Joseph Mountin. This is quite unlike the FDA whose founder is congress.
Edit: Some people confuse the CDC Foundation (which was established by congress in 1992 in order to fund the CDC) with the CDC itself. The CDC was established privately in Atlanta by Dr. Mountin in 1946. The CDC and the CDC Foundation are different entities.

Waste of time and nothing more than a PR stunt and a lousy one at that. Audits should be a regular occurrence and this comes off as a punitive measure which only servers to make Republicans look like shit and vilify the idea of audits.
