Exactly why I can't be bothered to try and "own land," these days. You're *literally* just exchanging one landlord for another. At least in the cast of renting, you have someone who cares to keep you happy enough to pay them on-time, every month, looking out for you. When you rent from the government: well, yeah: you get fucked in both ends. The only point of owning land, these days, is if you plan to turn it in to passive income.
