They've been using electric buses in San Francisco, quite successfully, for 75 years and more. They use a network of overhead power rails.

So I see a ton of school buses that have labels that they run on propane... isn't that insanely dangersous?! We had a trash truck in my hometown that ran on propane and it caught fire and was shooting flames at homes before the driver finally realized what was going on.

All viable fuels are dangerous and need to be handled/stored with care. Gasoline vehicles occasionally catch fire also.

Weren't posters just yesterday saying how much better electric vehicles were than IC engined vehicles?

AFAIK, electric cars ARE easier to maintain. Not sure what's going on with these buses.
