Kids should be outside learning simple gardening, playing ball, skipping rope and hanging out with parents fishing, camping etc. I was never a fan of the Hasbro plastic crap toys. Indoors they can learn to make their bed, do simple "cooking" helping Mom or helping Dad do other things. Our toys were simple. I had dolly and my brother had a stick with a cloth tied on for a fort flag.
