I'm not anti-mask. I'm against whatever impedes creating the sense of unity amongst people. A hard hat doesn't hinder seeing expressions of other people. It may give you a bad hairdo and only after you take it off.
The brain is developed to interpret a majority of the intention of other people mostly through their body language and the facial expressions make a big part of that. We literally can't even understand each other well with half the faces covered up.
If you are willing to forgo such a huge downgrade on your quality of life for a chance at living longer, go for it. I personally prefer a higher quality of life, not longevity. What good is living long if you can't even make genuine connections with people?
Before you start saying "but in Asian countries people wear masks all the time", I want you to know those countries are experiencing the crash in birth rate that will make the countries go extinct in the next couple of centuries.
