Masks do not stop corona transmission at all.
Surgical masks are designed to stop bacteria from entering a sterile field during surgery. Corona is a virus, not a bacteria - viruses are much smaller and pass straight through the pores of the mask.
Cloth masks do absolutely nothing, as every pathogen goes through the pores of those.
Masks however prevent you from breathing properly, as you are circulating the same bacterial pathogens from your nose and mouth for hours on end, which end up in your lungs and can cause bacterial pneumonia.
