For some reason, people prefer to get their information top down rather than laterally. I would have to surmise that it's our faith in expertise that made us abandon the community. In a way, we have corroded the very essence of community living for the sake of upholding the lives of those that seem more knowledgeable. The air of expertise has become the way to scam the rest of the population, and we're seeing it at the full blown scale.
