This is what you get with Liberalism. Look at California and any long term Democrat ruled state/city, and you'll find high crime rates.
Well then nothing counts as a crime the statistics are lower. But when you look outside and see the third world and crushing government oppression; statistics don't really matter any more. They just use them to gaslight the rest of the country that they are upholding RACIST laws.
Burdening the proletariat with unbearable suffering is a tent pole policy of revolutionary communists. I was looking for a particular Lenin quote to articulate that statement, something along the lines of 'it is good when the people suffer, suffering makes people revolutionaries', but I couldn't find it.
