This is the craziest thing. A therapist can tell a boy that they are Abraham Lincoln, a dragon, the second coming of Jesus, or a girl. However, a therapist cannot tell a boy that they are actually a boy if they were previously "diagnosed" with a gender disorder in many states. The LGBTP folks consider it conversion therapy to tell a boy that they are a boy or a girl that they are a girl. The fact that this obvious truth is banned makes me really suspicious that gay conversion therapy (which is usually banned in the same way) must actually work. We know telling (and counselling) a transgender kid that they are not transgender works in the vast majority of cases. I'm now willing to bet the same applies to gay people.
