Deregulation was only about power companies being able to increase prices without a regulatory board to slow them down. My ex wife worked for the power company and tried to argue the company line to me. I told her she can believe what she wants, but the company line was a lie. She never was good at thinking without someone like a tv to make her mind up for her.
