I had to get a pad done and the guy who was supposed to be helping me left right before the cement truck showed up. I was rushing around in boots and ended up getting concrete all over my jeans. It was there for about 7 hours. I thought the grittiness of the concrete was irritating my skin, but when I went home and undressed, I was shocked to see my thighs and shins were completely tore up. Like ate through multiple layers of my skin. Everyone who saw it afterward was horrified. I read about it a little bit, then neutralized the areas with vinegar. Was in a lot of pain for a couple weeks. 0/10 would not recommend
Lime, quick lime or calcium oxide. This is the highly alkaline substance that makes cement do cement things. It is very caustic and will literally dissolve you if exposed to it for a long time. This so called 'lime' is also what is referred to in the "You put de lime in de coconut, you drink 'em bot' togedder" song by Harry Nilsson. It was used as a medicinal treatment for sour stomach, heartburn or general stomach distress. In small quantities you can safely consume it, but you don't want this shit on your skin in significant quantities, as you found out.
