That's the problem with apps that "do the encryption" for you. It's just adding another trust layer to your security. Get yourself software that's been inspected inside and out, like GnuPG and learn how to use it. Learn best practices for device security. Boot a linux or BSD from an unwritable secure image (like a DVD). Good security is hard. If you want easy, you don't get security.
