Can I just go in and pick it up easily? Will it stay good sitting in the medicine cabinet?
As in all drugs dosage and protocol are very important. I wouldn't advise sucking down a tube of paste that dosed for a horse.
Ivermectin dose is based on weight. About 200mg/kg . Horses have the same dosage rate as a typical human, about 200mg/kg, so instead of measuring 1000lbs for a horse you measure to your weight. I'm Not a doctor nor giving medical advice. so look up dosage rates and research yourself. Dosages vary for what your trying to treat.
I reasearched the dosing carefully including the livestock medication. It is the same stuff. I was going to reply to @frontier but it seems he has me blocked, so you could poke him for me. You can get it off amazon https://www.amazon.com/ivermectin-horses/s?k=ivermectin+for+horses
As @Iheartcatfood says, it is dosed by the pound, and the Durvet applicator allows you to estimate doses to the nearest 50 lb increment per your bodyweight. So many would be taking a 150 lb dose or 200 lb dose. Each notch on the plunger will measure 50 lbs worth of medicine or 4.5 mg (which is 200 micrograms / kg in doctor speak ). In other words, it’s easy to measure doses to the nearest 4.5 mg. This is similar to the human medication which come in 3 or 6 mg pills.
It will stay good for a year or two at least, probably longer. It will also work for other flu and cold viruses. If you come down with early stage covid, I would take a dose a day for 3 to 5 days. You could do longer than 5 days or do a dose every 12 hrs if you were really sick.
Is safe on seniors. Drug interactions are generally mild and can be ignored at ~ 1 dose of ivm/day.
Heres a protocol that has recommendations for ivm as well as a list of drug interactions. https://covid19criticalcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/FLCCC-Protocols-–-A-Guide-to-the-Management-of-COVID-19.pdf Interactions on the “green list” are basically never observed at these doses. I dont know that theyve ever been observed at all. No human has ever died from an IVM overdose in 50 years according to the literature. So you can pretty much ignore potential interactions like atorvastatin or amplodopine if you use common sense.
If you took more than 10 doses in a short period of time or say, a dose a day for more than 10 days, the drug could build up. Adverse side effects at these levels are neurological. Vision changes and balance issues. People that have overdosed like this make a full recovery. But its not safe to use long term in those doses.
Some doctors are recommending ivm as a covid prophylactic in the range of 1 to 2 doses a month for safe long term use. My dad did 4.5 mg / weekly for 5 months until he got the vax. I think it is safer than the vaccine personally.
Here’s a guy that talks about using a similar product for scabies https://www.maximpulse.com/permethrin/ivermectin-horse-paste-for-scabies.html
Not safe for pregnant women, or at least may not be safe. Tastes like crap. Causes mild stomach irritation.
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure why I had you blocked. I'll probably go ahead and grab some just in case. I doubt I'll use it ahead of time. Should I also try to find an HQL source as well just in case?
Yea, you can get it on amazon too. It's a normal thing for farmers to have on hand. I had some before I knew it was a covid remedy.
Thanks, is one 6gr tube enough? I haven't really looked into this stuff much. I was just going to have it on hand and figure it out if needed.
Honestly, I'm not sure. But I know there has to be a site that has human dosing for COVID protocol.
