Even better then.. 70% of the air is nitrogen.. is it cost prohibitive to just make a chamber capable of filtering out oxygen?

Alternatively.. We could just fill an airliner with death row inmates, fly them up to FL180.. slowly depressurize the cabin. Gradual hypoxia, nice and clean.. only costs the fuel and wages for pilots. You would have to find pilots who are willing to be an executioner, but that probably wouldn't be too terribly difficult.

It wouldn’t be cost prohibitive but it’s expensive to maintain. On the other hand Airgas can deliver a tanker of liquid N2 for dirt cheap because it’s what they do. Then you just displace the room air with N2. Non-toxic and cheaper than all the other shit. The room doesn’t even need to seal well. Just well enough to not displace into the viewing room.

Why are we even bothering with rooms, just lock a respirator on their heads and pump N2 directly into it..
